Bendy
A few bits of metalwork while I was taking a break for other things. I drew up some HDD cages for the internals, and also got the main tower back from welding.
Now, it was time for some serious bending… of acrylic. The recipe is 150 degrees celsius for about five minutes in the middle of the oven. Then it's a case of lots of clamps and brute force. Thankfully, the front turned out exactly as planned!
The roof was easy to bend, but it wasn’t easy to get it into exactly the right shape, so I had to get a pair of plates to put the acrylic in between. That worked!
It’s starting to take form. Sawing the hole for the tower was a bit tricky, since the glass is bent and in different angles. However, time and patience won out.
